In March 2021, We Are Tech launched its inaugural panel series, called Let’s Talk About Equity. In this series, Thought Leaders across our community in Education, Tech, and Community Justice hosted discussions that focused on addressing how the tech industry can equitably invest in communities of color from Pre-K thru 12, in college, and throughout adulthood in the workforce.

We’ve continued to expand this program in 2022 to include community mixers and fireside chats. Watch the recaps of every past event here!

Every summer We Are Tech teams up with Blues Babe Foundation and Junior Music Executives to facilitate a Music Tech Internship that teaches students digital media and marketing skills. In this Music Tech program students produce an activation within Cause Village at the Made In America music festival; which is hosted by the Shawn Carter Foundation.

We Are Tech previously teamed up with Microsoft to bring digital literacy to our community! At our first workshop, we learned the basics about creating documents with Microsoft Word. In this workshop, our community learned from official trainers at Microsoft to learn the tips and tricks for mastering Microsoft Word tools.

These workshops will be revamped and will return with a new model at a later time!
